Blog Watching: Week ending April 10, 2022

All Native Basketball Tournament week grabbed a fair bit of the attention around town over the course of the last seven days.

With tournament play returning to Prince Rupert after a one year's absence, the Civic Centre complex and the streets of the downtown became a testimony to the passion of the fans and teams that arrived last weekend for the one week showcase of sport and culture.

With the tournament underway, a few of our stories found strong audiences over the course of the seven day run.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority notes on the Provincial Port Tax also generated some good readership numbers for the week, as we outlined the viewpoint from the waterfront on how the tax works.

Our look at a recent training project for the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department and some background on the Federal budget this week also found some strong attention this week.

When it came to the top item of the week however, it's to the waterfront and the PRPA tutorial on the Port Tax and investment on the North Coast that was the most read piece of the week.

In PRPA View: Port Property Tax Act fuels competitiveness, while Port Revenues contribute to local infrastructure revitalization  -- With the provincial tax regimen part of the discussion when it comes to civic budget making in the last month, we asked the Prince Rupert Port Authority for a review of how they see the tax program and it's focus.  (posted  April 5 , 2022)
