A Job with a View

It's not all fresh air and a great view, PRFD members train on the
use of ladders during a recent session

Prince Rupert's Firefighters have put in some elevated training over the last few weeks, with the members of the First Avenue West Fire Hall working on their ladder use in a residential area of the city.

In an update on their training work through their Facebook page, the PRFD outlined some of the critical use of ladders in their fire response and how the training program provides the skills to effect rescues and reach areas of homes when seconds count.

The recent training took place on a clear day in the city, though the use of ladders in response can come with any number of weather scenarios for fire fighters to deal with when they receive the call for service.

You can review more of their themes from their social media stream here.
