Two public consultation sessions at City Hall delivered no feedback from the public for Council member to consider when it comes to the 2022 Financial plan and any tax increase plans to come.
The April 11th consultation began as the previous one of March had, with the City's Chief Financial Officer Corinne Bomben providing a short overview of the Budget process and the recommendations from the Finance office for Council to consider.
The main theme of a request for a 3.63 per cent tax increase, making for an average of 67 dollars for most homeowners remained consistent with that of previous presentations and civic information.
The CFO also provided a reminder for residents as to how the City collects taxes on behalf of a number of other organizations in the community
The full five and a half minute presentation to Council from April 11th can be viewed through the City's Video Archive starting at the beginning of the Council session.
The path ahead now is for the Finance Office to provide all of their work for Council consideration and further direction, which will be presented with the April 25th Council session.
Among those notes will be a report from the CFO on how the consultation process had moved forward and what feedback was received by email and through the City's Rupert Talks program.
