Sunshine and Street Sweeping on the agenda for Tuesday

With the winds picking up this morning, some of the dirt in front of your home may have already moved on, but just in case there is still some there, the City of Prince Rupert has embarked on their annual Spring Street Sweeping program.

The City posted an advisory for residents through the civic Facebook page this morning updating the public on the work takin place around the community, with the city making use of it's own machinery and that of an outside contractor to get the work done.

The work makes for a full day of sweeping starting at 7AM and 6PM, as part of their notice they ask that residents move their vehicles should they notice the trucks on the streets in their neighbourhoods.

More notes on the work of the Operations Department can be reviewed from our archive page here.

  1. Where is the program to move some of the vehicles, boat trailers travel and travel trailers that have been parked for months in one spot. The city did a better job when they cleaned streets with a crew and fire hoses.

At least they cleaned under these parked vehicles. I can point to some areas in the city that there has been no cleaning for a couple of years. Some cities manage to get it done. Why are we not one of them?
