Snowfall Warning issued for North Coast Inland areas including Terrace, Kitimat

Snow is expected for Terrace this afternoon, it's already arrived
between Prince Rupert and the Skeena Valley with Kasiks
above currently in the midst of a snow squall

For those with travel plans this afternoon an advisory of note from Environment Canada which has issued a SNOWFALL WARNING for the North Coast Inland, which includes the Terrace and Kitimat region.

Snowfall of up to 15 cm is anticipated thanks to a stalled cold front which has produced pockets of heavy snow. The weather system is apparently a bit unstable giving Environment Canada to note the following:

There is some uncertainty in the timing of the rise of temperatures and freezing levels today. A delayed warming could significantly increase total snowfall amounts.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Points to the West of Terrace near Kasisks have already seen some snow on the ground this morning.  With slushy conditions reported between Prince Rupert and Terrace

The Snow has also started in the Kitimat region with the system moving north.

Conditions near Kitimat at 11:30 this morning

The Forecast ahead notes of Snow or Rain as part of the transition as the weather system eventually moves on from the region.

Updates on the weather situation through the Skeena Valley can be found through the Environment Canada website.
