After a couple of years of announcements of the launch of CityWest service in communities along the Highway 16 corridor, the Prince Rupert based communication company is getting close to bringing service to a community not that far from the head office on Third Avenue West.
CityWest employees will be in Lax Kw'alaams today and tomorrow to start the sign up process for residents in the community north of Prince Rupert, that as they prepare to launch their package of internet and television services in early June.
In an advisory to residents through the Lax Kw'alaams website and Facebook feed, the CityWest introductions of this week were outlined for the community.
Their team will be onsite with information about CityWest products and services. Pre-register and get your first 2 months of Internet absolutely free!

In partnership with the Lax Kw’alaams Band, CityWest will be bringing you improved Internet and TV!
We are planning to switch your entire community over to the new network on JUNE 6.
You must sign up for new services before that date, or you will no longer be able to access Internet or TV services.
Of note for Lax Kw'alaams residents is the advisory that phone lines will not be affected. That as CityWest is not providing phone services at this time.
As they prepare to launch their service to Lax Kw'alaams, CityWest officials noted of their enthusiasm for the project and their hopes for what will come from it.

In anticipation of a few questions from residents of Lax Kw'alaams, CityWest put together a Frequently Asked Questions list to try and address any potential questions that their new clients may have.
As we outlined back in October of 2021, Lax Kw'alaams and CityWest spent a number of months last years putting together the plan to bring the CityWest service to the community.
Once complete, the partnership agreement noted how CityWest would operated the network, but the infrastructure would be owned by Lax Kw'alaams that through a new company in the community.
