Coast Mountain College Convocation plans near completion in anticipation of late June event

The Lester Centre of the Arts will be the host for a much anticipated event in the lives of Coast Mountain College students and their families in June, with the three campus locations for the college in the northwest set to bid farewell to graduates following some challenging years of COVID.

As a result of the pandemic, the usual end of college life celebrations had been reduced in recent years, with no formal Convocation taking place since 2019, making for what should be a large and lively gathering of current and past students and their families this summer.

That COVID break from convocation could make for over 90 students to be acclaimed for their success at centre stage of the Lester Centre in June.

The deadline for confirming attendance came and went earlier this month and now all that is left for organizers in Prince Rupert, Terrace and Smithers are the final details towards making sure that Convocation Day runs as smoothly as possible.

The Prince Rupert campus graduates and family will celebrate at the Lester Centre of the Arts on Thursday June 23rd, that will mark the final of the three convocations in the Northwest for 2022.

Terrace will host their Convocation on Thursday, June 2nd, while Smithers hosts their farewell on Friday, June 10th.

In addition to the Convocation program itself, Four categories of awards will be handed out at the events.

Included in the parade to the stage will be recipients of Convocation Awards, a Community Service Award, Distinguished Alumni Award and Employee Recognition Award.
