| Plans for non market housing in Prince Rupert made some progress at Tuesday's Council session |
The approval to seek out the funding came following a report and presentation from the City's Planning Manager Myfannwy Pope, which outlined the scope of the request of Council.
There were few follow up comments towards her report, with only Councillor Cunningham making an inquiry towards the notes asking for a location for the housing proposals.
"Where exactly is this application for, it's just a blanket application as it sits now, do we have specific areas that we are looking at"-- Councillor Barry Cunningham
In response, Ms. Pope indicated that there were two locations proposed for the housing.
"We have some proposed locations and those will be indicated in the applications that we submit, there's two sites right now that we're looking at. One is city owned and one is downtown" -- City of Prince Rupert Planning Manager Myfannwy Pope

While the locations for the proposed housing were not identified on Tuesday evening, the last review towards the theme of the Rapid Housing initiative came back in January.
At that time the two sites noted for potential development were both on Third Avenue West, one at the corner of McBride and Third, the other on the current site of the debris field from the Belmont Hotel Fire.
