The Art Room in the Civic Centre is the constitution consultation centre for Lax Kw'alaams Band through until Friday |
With a large segment of the community's population in Prince Rupert this week for the All Native Basketball Tournament, Lax Kw'alaams is taking advantage of the Civic Centre's central role in events to host an three day drop-in consultation towards their plans for a Constitution.
The focus of the event which started this morning in the Art Room at the Civic Centre is on youth and what vision they may have for the Constitution.
Some of the areas they are seeking some guidance on from the youth of Lax Kw'alaams include:
What makes them proud to be from the community.
What's their favourite part of being from Lax Kw'alaams and What would you do if you were Chief for a day.
The three days of consultation start at 10AM and continue through to 5PM
To encourage participation, those that help with the consultation will be entered in draws for Apple Gift Cards, Visa Gift Cards as well as other items.
The youth dedicated event is just one of a number of ways that the community is taking the pulse of members to see what they want in a new constitution.
You can follow that journey through the Lax Kw'alaams Social Media stream.
