Blog Watching: Week ending February 19, 2023


Plans to allow for potential higher height allowances downtown and Transportation themes dominated when it came to where the readers gravitated towards over the last seven days.

Our notes on the related the upcoming Public Hearing on amendments to some heights and the city's work on its Master Transportation plan providing for three of our five most read items.

Also gaining note this week, some news from the BC Legislature with comments from both North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice and Skeena MLA Ellis Ross both finding a strong audience over the last seven days.

From the weeks review the most read of our pieces was our look ahead to the Tuesday Public hearing set for City Council Chambers at 6 PM.

Building Height amendments next focus for City of Prince Rupert Public Hearings -- The third Public Hearing for the year is set for Tuesday, February 21st as Prince Rupert City Council members host the public to comment on their proposed changes for some height restrictions in the downtown core.    (posted February 13, 2023

Round Two from Connect Rupert Consultation underway as City seeks feedback as part of Surrey project --  Following a presentation last week to City Council by their consultants on transportation, the City launched the second phase of their public consultation process towards the development of their Master Transportation Plan.    (posted February 14 , 2023
