Travel alert ends for Northern Expedition, putting vessel back on track for Saturday night sailing to Prince Rupert

A Notice for BC Ferry customers from earlier this evening that had indicated that the scheduled sailing for the Northern Expedition from Skidegate to Prince Rupert may be delayed has been updated, with the transit to the North Coast now back on schedule

The original Service Notice was issued  around 5 PM and observed of potential incoming weather issues that could have impacted on the sailing.

Just before 7:30 PM, a second notice provided a bit of comfort for those set for the sailing, diving that the anticipated  adverse weather was no longer a threat to the sailing.

The crossing this evening is set to bring a large volume of participants and supporters of teams in the All Native Tournament, so the improving conditions will be a relief to tournament organizers.

You can follow updates on the BC Ferries service to and from Haida Gwaii from their Service Notice page.
