Early morning response sent Prince Rupert Fire Rescue to City's east side early Wednesday morning



Ten Firefighters and four pieces of fire apparatus were called into service in the early hours of Wednesday morning, as the Prince Rupert Fire Rescue Department attended to a fire on the 11100 Block of Eighth Avenue East.

In a review of their work posted to the PRFD Social Media Stream, the Department outlines the scope of their work on the 2:42 AM response.

Upon arrival of the first due fire engine, a large volume of fire was coming from the front of the main floor. 

Initial reports were that no occupants were in the home at the time of the fire. 

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly while searching the residence for occupants. 

Searches of the residence reported no occupants inside. 

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is currenlty the subject of an investigation.
