The Volunteers of the Port Edward Fire/Rescue Service probably saw a few meals have to wait as they answered a Monday night Family Day fire call on Highway 16.
The District of Port Edward Fire Department's social media page outlines the details to a vehicle fire call near Taylor Lake.
The call for service brought six members of the department and two of their apparatus dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival the Port Edward firefighters found a fully engulfed pick up truck, the driver having safely evacuated out of the vehicle.
In their notes, the PEVFD notes that they used an attack line with foam from Engine 1 quickly brought the fire under control.
A secondary attack line, using a portable pump from the nearby lake, was also put into service to help fight the fire and cool the vehicle.
Their overview along with some photos is available here.
It was the second highway call in recent weeks for the PEVFD, earlier this month the Department answered a commercial logging truck fire on Highway 16.
