Student drama presentations take over the Lester Centre of the Arts this weekend as SD52 Hosts Dramatist 2023 |
An opportunity to check out the productions from the talented acting students of the Northwest comes up this weekend.
With Prince Rupert School District 52 playing host to the annual DramaFest productions, with four schools set to entertain audiences at the Lester Centre of the Arts through to the Awards of Sunday.
The Drama students of Terrace's Caledonia Secondary, Smithers Secondary along with Prince Rupert Middle School and Charles Hays Secondary will all taking part in the Northwest Zone competition.
Dramafest 2023 features one act plays from each of he participating schools, showcasing the strong current of theatre found in the Northwest.
The two nights of Theatre start Friday at 7:30 with Night Number Two on Saturday both evenings have a curtain call of 7:30.
Once the Judges have tabulated their results, the Northwest Zones Awards will be handed out at a 1 PM ceremony Sunday in the Charles Hays Multipurpose Room.
The successful production from the weekend will move of to the provincial drama competition.
Those looking to attend the two nights of theatre can do so by donation at the door.
