New housing complex nears completion and seeks tenants
One of the few new housing developments to reach the finish line in the city in recent years is almost complete, with work on the final stages for the Mountain View Estates project on India Avenue almost at an end.
The project which featured the renovation of the old Bethel Baptist Church into executive suite residences was approved by City Council back in May of 2015 and from that point work quickly began on the transformation from House of Worship, to a potential House of Executives.
Management for the renovated building is currently marketing the living options through a facebook page, highlighting some of the features that will be available to those that choose to take up residence.
The project will consist of 14 units featuring either 1 or 2 bedrooms, as well as access to a boardroom, business centre, exercise room and off street parking.
The online prospectus makes notes of such amenities as gourmet kitchens, high end appliances, Big Screen TV's, wi-fi, and cable available in each unit, with all utilities inclusive in the rent as well as the provision of a weekly cleaning service.
The Management of Mountain View Estates also advise that there are very few options in the area that offer up the quality and convenience that the suites offer and suggest quick action from prospective residents, with the units to be rented to corporate tenants on a monthly or annual lease basis,
Considering its marketing approach, the new housing however, won't do much to alleviate the current concerns over affordable housing options in the community. During the zoning application process for the project of last year, it was observed that the anticipated rental models would see the range of rent at somewhere between 1,800 and 2,500 dollars per month.
The new housing option appears to remain focused on the prospect of economic growth for the region, through LNG development and other industrial activity in the region. Something which at the moment remains more of the prospective phase than the actual developmental process.
You can review more about the new development here.
