City of Prince Rupert to Close Earl Mah Aquatic Centre and Fitness Centre as of Tuesday

The Earl Mah Aquatic Centre and Fitness Loft are just the latest
Civic facilities to be closed to the public

With new provincial COVID-19 guidelines now in place on restricted gatherings, the City of Prince Rupert has announced the Closure of the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre and the Fitness Centre at that facility, with the Closure going into effect tomorrow, March 17th, until further notice.

During the Monday morning advisory from the BC Government, the new benchmark for public gatherings was listed as 50 or under.

As the Centre closes to the public, the city notes that Staff will be directed to conduct annual maintenance duties, potentially limiting the summer closure time this year.

The latest closure comes following the closure of the Recreation Centre and Arena on Friday, as well as a string of sports and other program cancellations.

The City's advisory can be found from the Civic website and Recreation Department Facebook page.
