Live from the Home Office in Smithers, it's In the House with Taylor Bachrach!

These unusual times of the COVID pandemic have made for some changes to some long standing traditions for Canadian politicians and for MP Taylor Bachrach, going to Question Period and other functions of Parliament means moving from one room to another at his home in Smithers.

With MP's for the most part working in a Virtual Parliament session for the moment, the Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP has been participating by way of the Internet and a connection from Smithers to the national capital.

In a post from his Facebook page from April 28th the Northwest MP outlined some of the challenges that the current pandemic have provided for Members of the House of Commons

The virtual sessions take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and constituents across the Northwest can view the proceedings from the online parliamentary portal.

Today's session from Ottawa had its start at 8 AM

Last week Mr. Bachrach explored the new virtual Parliament and a range of other issues through a video presentation for the riding which you can review here.

In the video presentation which lasted just over a half an hour, the MP observed on the current political scene in Ottawa and took submitted questions from constituents.

Among some of his topics, how the new online Parliament has worked so far, themes related to Seniors and a review of some of the programs now available to assist Canadians during the COVID pandemic.

More notes on the work of the MP for Skeena-Bulkley Valley can be explored here.
