Book Bin reopening and Livestream update make for part of Prince Rupert Library's restart plans

Back in Service! Prince Rupert's Library users can now
drop off their borrowed materials at the Prince Rupert Library Book Bin

For residents who have been patiently awaiting a chance to return their collection of library materials there is some good news this week.

As of yesterday, the Prince Rupert Library has announced the re-opening of the Book Bin located in front of the Sixth Avenue facility.

The return of service to the Book Bin is the first phase of a gradual reopening plan for the Library which closed to the public in March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with the return of the Book Bin, the Library is sharing word of the introduction of a curb-side delivery of materials that you may wish to borrow and pick up at the Library, as well as a children's grab back project, which will see the staff put together collections of books to read.

The Children's grab bags can be reserved through an email at circulation@princerupertlibrary.ca

More background on how all of the curb side projects will work can be explored here.

While the library itself  remains closed to the public for now, Chief Librarian Joe Zelweitro and the staff have outlined the  full scope of programs that the Library has planned and how their re-opening program will work.

You can learn much more the reopening plans from a Facebook Livestream event that the Prince Rupert Library hosted last week.

The Library also reminds residents that they are not taking any donations at this time, that as they anticipate a large supply of books coming back to the book bins as Rupertites return those materials that have been around the house for the last few months.

You can also get further information by calling the Library at 250-627-1345 or by way of their Facebook page or website.
