City issues annual call for new Members for 75/50 Club

No Seafest this year meant no Seniors Tea and no celebration of
the 75./50 inductees as was the case above in 2018.
The City still plans to present awards this year however!
Though
with a twist owing to the COVID pandemic

While the chance for a public celebration is on hold for 2020, that owing to the COVID pandemic and limitations on public gatherings, the City of Prince Rupert is still looking to add to the roll call of those residents who qualify for the 75/50 Club.

The annual award presentation normally handed at a Seafest Friday luncheon was suspended, along with 2020 Seafest celebrations leaving the City to look for a solution for this year.

Towards that they are currently accepting the names of those who qualify for membership in the 75/50 Club, (that being  at least 75 years of age and has live in Prince Rupert for 50 years or more)

To submit names, you are asked to contact Brianne Bunko, Executive Assistant at City Hall, Ms. Bunko can be contacted at 250-627-0939.

The deadline to submit names is July 15th at 4PM.

The plan for this years award will see the City mailing out the plaques for the 2020 inductees, with the public recognition ceremony to take place at next years Seniors' Tea when the class of 2020 and 2021 will receive their salute from the City of Prince Rupert.

A reminder, the 2020 Virtual Seafest Parade will air on CityWest Community Television on Saturday, June 27th at 11 AM.
