A call for some help from the public by the Prince Rupert RCMP generated the most reads on the week, as readers explored the background to a search for a Wanted Man, related to bank robbery in the city two years ago.
Education was also a topic of interest this week, with more news coming out School District 52 which brought back a familiar face to take on the duties as Superintendent on an interim basis, as well as to make some senior staff shifts.
It being a City Council week, a number of stories attracted some attention from our readers, with the city's contract award for summer paving work of much interest, as were our notes on the approach Council is taking to municipal planning of late.
And the Port of Prince Rupert provided its yearly snapshot of Port financial results and progress on projects this week, with a slight change to the model of the Annual Public Meeting, this year held virtually through a ninety minute streaming session from the Atlin Terminal.
However, when it came to the most read item of the last week, the work of Law Enforcement in the region and case from two years ago proved to be the one to capture the most interest.
Prince Rupert RCMP seek public assistance in search for Wanted Person -- Members of the Prince Rupert detachment, called on residents this week to be watchful for a Wanted Person who could be in the community, the search is related to a 2017 Bank Robbery in the city, though the Mounties did advise the public to contact them and not approach him on their own. Port of Prince Rupert APM reviews challenges and opportunities ahead for the Northern Gateway -- The Port of Prince Rupert hosted their Annual Public Meeting for 2020 in a virtual model owing to COVID, but despite the change in format, the information relayed helped to chart the course ahead for the most important element of the Prince Rupert economy.
