The work ahead on the project was one of the feature items from last weeks Annual Public Meeting, with a number of port officials noting of their work past and present on land use issues, as well as their ambitions for the future.
The eighty page overview explores the purpose of the land plan, the engagement with communities and explores themes related to environmental context and impact.
Among some of the features of that presentation include review summaries of important updates, answers to a number of frequent land use questions that the Port receives and the opportunity for those participating to provide comments on what they have explored.
A look back at some past development and the quest for diversification into the future is one of the key elements of the document as is the area dedicated towards future land use direction and implementation.

Those with an interest in the process can download and review a draft overview of the project now available online from the Port of Prince Rupert website.
With COVID measures remaining in place, the usual public presentation process will not be possible at this time, however the Port notes that they have enhanced their online engagement process to help deliver information to the public.
Towards that flow of information Port has posted a pair of videos providing the introduction to the Virtual Open House on the Land Use Plan.
