Monday made for twice the fun with the Carnival Miracle (left) and Ruby Princess (right) both in port. |
Monday made for a fairly impressive day for tourism for Prince Rupert, with two large Cruise ships sending the teeming masses ashore to explore and shop, all of it moving forward under the kind of sunshine and blue skies that make for a Tourism Prince Rupert marketing dream.
The Ruby Princess was assigned the Prince Rupert Cruise Terminal spot, while the Carnival Miracle anchored just off of the Cow Bay Dock and ferried its passengers to and from the Terminal all day long.
The two ships offered up the prospect of a big day for local tourism operators and shop owners, with 3,080 potential passengers and 1,200 crew members on the Ruby Princess, along with 2,124 passengers and 937 crew members for the Miracle.
Once ashore, the visitors were off to any number of locations, some hopping aboard the Olde Time Trolley for the tour of the region, others taking advantage of the walking tours offered from the waterfront around the immediate area.
Others did some self navigating, making their way to Rushbrook Trail area or to the Rotary Waterfront Park and the Wheelhouse Brewing Company's new home in the historic CN Station.
