United Way hails community spirit from Prince Rupert on Period Promise project

The United Way of Northern BC has just wrapped up their month long Period Promise campaign across the region and as they noted on Tuesday, Prince Rupert residents adopted the project with some zeal, delivering a total of 1,152 products from the call.

The month long campaign which started in late May and took place through  to lat June,  had asked residents to drop off a range of menstrual products for those on limited incomes at a number of community drop off locations around the city.

One of the early backers of the project was the City of Prince Rupert, which designated the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre for its drop off location.

The contributions from the community will now be distributed around the Prince Rupert area through the North Coast Transition Society.
