Prince Rupert port watchers can get a close up look at the repair work to the cruise vessel Ruby Princess this week, that after the Princess lines vessel received some emergency welding work after a port incident in San Francisco last week.

As we outlined on Friday, the frequent visitor to the Prince Rupert Cruise Terminal  had a hard landing at a San Francisco pier last week, the impact resulting a giant hole to the hull of the vessel and other damage.

Such was the work required that the vessel did not receive clearance from the US Coast Guard to set sail until Sunday, when it departed from Pier 27 at 3:45 PM.

The Ruby Princess is now a seven day cruise, rather than its usual 10 day transit.

The latest marine fixing from Marine Traffic has the ship transiting the coast of California towards Oregon.
