Weekend of lightning strikes moves Wildfire risk higher, as some evacuations announced along Highway 16 corridor

A weekend full of lightning strikes has made an already concerning situation for the Northwest region a bit more so, with Wildfire's  multiplying and evacuations announced over the last two days to highlight the dangers.

Over the Weekend  the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako acting on advice from the BC Wildfire Service issued a number of Evacuation orders.

Among them Orders for 

Powers Creek Wildfire
Parrot Lookout Wildfire
Tintagel Widlfire
Big Creek
Tsah Creek

The BC Wildfire Service listings for the Northwest observe of 10 Wildfires of note, 9 of them listed as out of control.

The BC Wildfire Service  had noted of 34 wildfires in the Northwest on Friday.

Evacuation centres have been set up in Smithers, Burns Lake and Vanderhoof for those that have been impacted by the fires and the Evacuation orders so far.
