That coming as the Provincial and Federal Governments made numerous announcements both days that highlight the new urgency that both were taking to address the concerns of residents as the spread of the virus continued to accelerate.
The province of British Columbia has done some stellar work in informing British Columbians of exactly what the situation is each day, and that propelled our daily overview of their notes to the most read features for each day of the week.
Those daily reports featured the measured and calm approach of information delivery from Public Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, who provided the right mix of information and statistical review to help guide us along the new path we are destined to follow.
It was also a week where local government's and organizations began to announce scaled back operations and guidance on their COVID-19 response plans or delivered information updates.
By Friday, the rest of the weeks' news 'highlights' paled by comparison to the larger concerns, but among those topics that most resonated with the public were our notes on a Second Rainmaker victory at the Senior Boys Basketball Provincials.
Also capturing the attention of readers, our notes on what would have been former Rainmaker Liam McChesney's first March Madness experience, a competition that will now have to be deferred until 2021.
Our article on the first Public Engagement period for the City of Prince Rupert Budget also found a strong audience as the week moved forward.
However, the most read story of the week, which actually made for a number of stories on the same theme, were our notes on the COVID-19 accounts of the province and local officials.
