Plans continue to develop towards the May long weekend and the 2020 edition of the Prince Rupert Homecoming, which will see past residents make their return to visit with friends and family and catch up on what's happening around the town they once called home.
As the days of Homecoming (May 14-18) get closer a few more notes have been relayed by the organizing committee, the first a call for artists to share their artwork as part of the Homecoming Hospitality Room at the Crest.
The call is open to all artists and works of art should feature Prince Rupert and the neighbouring villages.
You can get more information on that project by email at artwork.rupert.homecoming@gmail.com
The deadline to submit your work is April 26th.
The Homecoming committee has also shared word of some special entertainment set for the afternoon of May 17th at the Lester Centre, with Gloria Macarenko and Craig Oliver, perhaps two of the most famous of former Prince Rupert residents set to share their memories of their origins in the community, as well as to be on hand for the afternoon of music from the Prince Rupert Community Choir.
The organizing group has also opened up their storefront office located inside the Capital Mall Building on Third Avenue West.
You can also contact them at 250-624-5000.
