Last week we noted that the District of Port Edward had issued an advisory for its residents, that related to an increase of wolf encounters in the community, as well as to note of the work of the BC Conservation Officer Service towards the issue.
Today, the City of Prince Rupert has also provided some guidance for residents, posting a Public Notice to the City website and relaying the advisory through their mobile app, highlighting the current situation in the area.
Along with the volume of background information for residents to review, the City notes that wildlife management is outside of the city's jurisdiction and is the work of the BC Conservation Officer Service.
The City's background piece on what residents need to know about wolf encounters can be reviewed here.
