The 2024 City of Prince Rupert Budget process is nearing the end of its month long odyssey of November consultations, with tonight's session of City Council set to bring the final presentation from Corinne Bomben the Chief Financial Officer, who will make a presentation as part of the Committee of the Whole session just prior to tonight's Regular Council session.
Ms. Bomben's Report is related to a request for Direction from City Council towards implementation of the recommended Five Year Plan.
The documents included as part of her overview feature some background on the civic consultation period, along with the Budget Simulation program that the city hosted during the course of the November consultation process.

The documentation also includes correspondents to the City related to their budget decision making, some of those are typed, others handwritten notes expressing how the public views the challenges and offers up some solutions for City Council as they look to craft their Five year Plan.
The questions asked as part of the correspondences have responses provided immediately below the correspondence.
The Full package of information can be reviewed here.
Following Ms. Bomben's presentation, the Public will have one final opportunity to speak to Council to offer up their last minute guidance towards how the City should proceed with the Budget, Five Year Financial Plan and the proposed taxation level to be assessed.
Once that opportunity closes, Council will then consider first, second and third readings of the recommendations from the Financial Office as part of the Regular Council Session.
