This week was Budget Week for Prince Rupert, with the City's financial office revealing its financial plans for the year ahead, as well as the proposed tax hike set at 7.7 percent by CFO Corinne Bomben.
There was som strong Interest in some of the themes that we explored that hat made for the Budget narrative of the week.
Included from those notes, potential plans for the Prince Rupert Fire Rescue Department for the years ahead, the Revenue Streams that the city has access to towards the budget planning and notable change in tone from past years when it comes to the city's engagement with the Prince Rupert Port Authority.
One item from our list of five diverted from the Budget theme, with our look ahead to Saturday's Remembrance Day ceremonies gaining some strong interest.
The top story of the week however, comes out of City Hall and the Financial plan for 2024.
7.7 percent tax hike proposed for Budget 2024 (More if residents really, really want a walkway) -- City residents received their first look at the proposed 2024 City of Prince Rupert Budget, with CFO Corinne Bomben delivering the financial overview on Monday night, launching the city's consultation process.
