Parks and Recreation Report up for Approval by Council tonight

The Blueprint for how Prince Rupert will play is up for review at tonight's City Council Session, with a presentation from Urban Systems which will provide for the final delivery of their report on where the city should put its focus on parks and Recreation themes.

The document comes with Eight chapters and 100 pages

The Plan covers the Waterfront, Recreation Park areas, Trail System and other Outdoor Amenities offering an ambitious look at what could be created for the future.

Though a future we imagine that will be governed by what we can afford, what we can gain grant funding for and who the city can partner with to realize some of the themes.

Each of the above elements comes with Five Key Recommendations and comes after consultation with the public and stakeholders which started in October of 2022.

A snapshot of the Report is available from the Council Agenda

The Presentation comes at the start of tonight's Council Session, Council members will then discuss whether to approve of the document. Both will offer opportunity for Council to share some of their thoughts on the proposals and the process.

Some of the early work towards the Plan can be explored through the Rupert Talks portal, the final Report will likely be included as part of the archives to that page.
