Blog Watching: Week ending November 26, 2023

Progress for the School District's plans for a new Middle School, potential controversy for City Council following a Northern View article and a push in the Legislature towards the BC NDP's climate change policies all made for much reviewed items on the week.

Joining those entries were some changes that were announced to the leadership for the NorthWest BC Resource Benefits Association and the  final steps towards the start of Prince Rupert's winterfest celebrations which start at the end of the week ahead.

That List of five finding a strong audience through the week.

The top story of the five on the week however, comes out of School District 52 and their plans for construction of the new Middle School.

SD52 starts PRMS replacement planning with Management contract through Vancouver School Board -- The start for the much anticipated new Middle School for Prince Rupert starts with a management contract for the Vancouver School Board to coordinate the project.     (posted November 22, 2023

Leadership Team Change for Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance -- With Houston Mayor Shane Brienen set to seek a seat in the Legislature, the Leadership of the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance has announced Smithers Mayor Gladys Atrill will replace the Houston  official.   (posted November 20, 2023

Climate Change policies ramping up as a key BC election theme for 2024 -- The BC United Opposition believe that they have an issue to take to voters, with increased attacks on the BC NDP's climate change policies, Leading the discussion for the Opposition is Skeena MLA Ellis Ross.    (posted November 21, 2023
   
Winterfest Plans come together as Prince Rupert's Winter Festival days near -- The next bi public celebration and the last for 2023, is fast approaching with Prince Rupert Special Events in the last days of preparation for Winterfest.    (posted November 21, 2023
