City's Budget simulator is live, offering residents the opportunity to craft the municipal budget

As part of their consultation program for the 2024 Budget process, the City's Finance office is offering up their Budget Simulator program for the public to explore, this the fourth year now for the project that lest residents weigh the decisions that shape a financial plan.

As the City explains the program: You can take a look at the different expense and revenue categories and let us know the areas that you would increase/decrease by interacting directly with our budget line items.

You can also get a handy estimate of your municipal taxes through the tax receipt function that let's you know where your taxes go for the different services you receive (estimated based on 2023 property values because 2024's aren't available yet)

You can share your priorities for City staff and council through this link.

In addition to the online Budget simulator, the City offers some extensive Budget Related information through the Rupert Talks Portal.

Residents can also share their comments on the budget process by Canada Post,  email or phone.

One final consultation session for the public is ahead, with the Tuesday, November 14th Council session offering an opportunity for one last bit of guidance for Council and staff.
