Today is Plaid Friday, the community based response across North America to try to lure back some of the pre holiday spending that comes with the Black Friday extravaganza that I currently playing out on your televisions and online shopping.
This year, the organization doing the most to spread the word on the Shop Local theme is Prince Rupert based Northern Savings Credit Union which has used much of the lead up to today to share word of the program.
To create some interest in the initiative they have dispatched their mascot Grizzwald to locations in Prince Rupert, Terrace and Haida Gwaii where if you should find him, you will win a 25 dollar gift certificate.

Among the local businesses taking part is Entire Automotive Services, who invited shoppers to drop in today. As has Leanne's Pet Shop which also is embracing the themes of Plaid.
