A moment for final reflections before Remembrance Day fades from view

Prince Rupert's Cenotaph at the Court House Post Remembrance Day

The cenotaph at the Court House is serving as the silent sentry for the days following the Last Post, the collection of wreaths that have remained in place, the testimony to community and remembrance of just a few days ago.

Saturday's Remembrance Day providing for the communal experience for residents of the region.

The parade, service and sounding of the last post, all part of familiar events here,  that took place in all Canadian communities from coast to coast to coast on the 11th.

The days following Remembrance Day provide for the opportunity for a personal moment to remember ...

No crowds, no politicians, just the cenotaph, the silence and  chance to offer a note of thanks to those who made an ultimate sacrifice or continue to serve this nation today.

The wreaths are soon to be removed, the area returned to the community space for other events, most notably the joyful expression of the upcoming Winterfest just a few weeks away.

Before our hallowed ground returns to those events,  take advantage of what may be the last fair day for a while to stop by and take in the vista of wreaths of green, ribbons of red and memories that they represent and take a moment for a personal thanks.
