The Tom Rooney Playhouse on Third Ave West is going to be the centre for the artistic community this summer with a Theatre Camp and 20th edition of Udderfest coming up |
A chance for Prince Rupert's youth to develop their acting skills or get their first taste of theatre life is coming up this summer, with the return of a popular theatre program in the city.
This Saturday marks the start of another summer for the Kids Theatre Camp hosted by Harbour Theatre, the program offers five weeks of an introduction to theatre on weekends for youth from the ages of five to 14.
Registration is 25 dollars per participant for the five weeks of camp.
Sessions take place from 1 to 4:30 on the weekends and lead up to the Camp's Matinee performance during Udderfest on August 11th.
Towards that event, participants in the program will take part in the creation of an original play for Udderfest as well as to create their props, costumes and construct their set.
The Camp takes place at the Tom Rooney Playhouse at 954 Third Avenue West.

More about the Kids Theatre Camp can be found from this Facebook page created for the five week program.
The funding for the Camp came through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, with Harbour Theatre able to hire four students to support not only the Theatre Camp, but the run up to the 20th edition of the Annual UdderFest Fringe Theatre Festival, which takes place in August.
Auditions for the Festival productions have been ongoing this week, you can find out more about those auditions and keep up to date on the run up to UdderFest from the Harbour Theatre Facebook page.
