The local group of volunteers that take to the streets and bush area of the region to help keep Prince Rupert clean have some new equipment to work with thanks to the Prince Rupert Lions Club.
Positive Prince Rupert - Civic Pride was the recipient of a 600 dollar donation last month from local Lions, putting the money towards supplies for their efforts around town, among the items that they picked up thanks to the cash infusion was a wheelbarrow to help haul the material that they collect during the forays about town.
The local group found some renewed energy back in 2015 when Chantal Meggison brought her Positive Prince Rupert group to the Civic Pride clean up initiatives, with local residents regularly taking on clean up projects around the area.
The next project is set for July 22nd when the group will meet at Bob's on the Rocks and work along the newly opened Rushbrook Trail.
The full schedule for the year is available here, though they are open to additional suggestions.
You can learn more about their work from their Facebook page.
