The MV Malaspina has been delayed in port at Ketchikan resulting in a revised schedule for the Prince Rupert - Ketchikan route this weekend |
Travellers out of Prince Rupert heading for Alaska will be enjoying a bit more of Prince Rupert's hospitality this evening, with the Alaska Marine Highway System advising that the sailing of the Malaspina out of Ketchikan to Prince Rupert today has been delayed.
The vessel required some minor repair work today at port in Ketchikan and was not scheduled to depart for Prince Rupert until 4 PM.
With that delay, it's arrival in Prince Rupert is not expected until 11:30 this evening, with the revised schedule for the journey to Ketchikan now calling for a 230 AM departure out of the Fairview AMHS Terminal.
AMHS has been spending the day attempting to contact affected passengers with the updated sailing notice.
The change to the operational schedule for the weekend can be reviewed here.
It's anticipated that the Malaspina will be back to its regular schedule of service on Monday.
You can track the journey of the vessel from the AMHS vessel tracking program here.
