It's Season Four for the most recent iteration of the Days of Prince Rupert, the chronicle of Municipal Government that plays out every two weeks (give or take) on the City of Prince Rupert's You Tube Channel.
However, like those of us watching our favourite shows from a streaming service, followers of government Municipal style are in a bit of a holding pattern at the moment, with the most recent episode from this years seventeen episode season still to be delivered to the online viewing platform at You Tube.
As we noted as part of our City Council Timeline from the June 25th Council session, the city had yet to post the video archive of their Council deliberations to the online portal, an absence that has continued on into the first week of July.
We made contact with the City's communication Department on Thursday to inquire as to the nature of the delay, and it would seem that the delivery of the missing episode is awaiting some action by the IT department, with the city noting that summer time vacation scheduling has left many departments a little lighter in staffing.
The flow of council information however has not come to a complete standstill, the City's communication department does offer up their Cole's Notes version of each Council session, highlighting the notes that Council wishes to put the most focus on for residents.
And as we've noted, we offer up an extensive archive of notes from each Council session through our Council Timeline features, but nothing really beats hearing the themes and topics of note from the Council member themselves, a service that the You Tube option fills quite nicely for the community.
This season of Days of Prince Rupert is of course is proving to be an interesting one, with the countdown now on to the season ending cliff hanger finale, with an October vote set to see if there will be any cast changes when the next version of the four year mini series goes ahead on October 22nd.
Among some of the potential changes could be the lead role at Council and while all indications to this point would seem to suggest that Mayor Lee Brain plans on seeking another four year term at the head of the council table, Mr. Brain so far has not officially declared his intentions for the October Vote, nor have we heard much about the plans of the other five council members.
