That as word spreads of an accident on Texada Island that claimed the life of a former Annunciation and Charles Hays Secondary School student, Jessica Mokrzycki.
According to news reports out of Powell River, Ms. Mokrzycki was attending a popular annual music festival taking place over the weekend on Texada.
It is believed that at the time of the early evening incident of July 21st, that she fell into the water from a rock bluff and subsequently drowned.
First Aid responders on the site and arriving Emergency personnel attempted to revive Ms. Mokrzycki, but sadly were not able to do so.
The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the RCMP and BC Coroners Service.

The 23 year old Rupertite had relocated to the Vancouver Island area to complete her studies at VIU, working towards her goal of becoming a teacher.
Her passing has been marked by many remembrances of her life in Prince Rupert and how she had touched the lives of those she met. Many also share thoughts of her love of travel and community and as an ambassador for the city through her travels.
Among some of the many activities in Prince Rupert for Ms. Mokrzycki was time spent with the Prince Rupert Rotary exchange programs, she was also heavily involved with a number of projects at Charles Hays Secondary during her high school years.
