So far, the trip to North Vancouver has been a rewarding one for the Charles Hays Senior Boys Rainmakers, with the Prince Rupert squad staking their claim to a Final Four berth in the North Shore Invitational.
The Rainmakers path through the week saw them claim a 65 to 46 victory over Victoria's Belmont Secondary on Thursday.
That was followed by a nine point victory, 54-45, over host Carson Graham on Friday night, with the Rainmakers taking on not only a highly regarded Vancouver team, but facing their legion of fans on their home court.
With the two victories secured, the placements were set for today's Championship rounds.
The Rainmakers will be facing North Vancouver's Sutherland Secondary at 12:30 in Semi Final one, another match up that probably will find the crowd heavily favouring the local squad over the visitors from the North Coast.
Semi- Final Number two features Handsowrth and Tweedsmuir who will also tip off at 12:30
The winners will meet at 7 PM at the Carson Graham Gymnasium in the Tournament Final.
The string of victories and berth in the semi-finals, along with the prospect of the Championship game on the radar, should help to solidify the Charles Hay's Rankings in AAA Basketball.
As we outlined earlier this week, the Rainmakers have been climbing quickly through the ranks of the top 10 in BC.
Most recently CHSS placed at Number 3 in the province as part of the Vancouver Province Basketball Rankings.
As each of those rankings come out the Rainmakers are finding that their program is receiving much the same kind of that attention that came with their run through the Provincial Tournament of last March.
