Classes for Coast Mountain College remain in session as the Northwest educational institution follows the advice of the province, which has so far said that all post-secondary institutions will remain open.
However, as the response to the COVID-19 outbreak continues to ramp up in British Columbia, College President Justin Kohlman provided an update on their response to the situation today.
Noting how the Provincial Health Officer's message has remained one that the public health risk associated with COVID-19 remains low, Kohlman also observed how there have been no confirmed reports of presumptive COVID-19 infection reported from their campus locations.
The advisory which was posted to the College website and social media feeds, Mr. Kohlman highlighted the formation of a cross-campus committee which is keeping up to date on any possible impacts as the situation develops.
The update also includes a list of precautions that staff, students and their families can take to reduce the potential distribution of any virus, as well as to provide a link to a number of provincial agencies.

Regional Health Authority Northern Health is directing residents of Northern BC to the BC Centre for Disease Control for updated information on the status of the virus.
