North Pacific Cannery adds to the exhibits and the eats onsite in Port Edward

One of the North Coast's most popular destinations for tourists and locals alike is ramping up for a busy summer season.

And as North Pacific Cannery Historical Site prepares to welcome the guests for the months ahead they're sharing some exciting news from Port Edward.

Among the exhibits for the site this summer is news of the opening of the Manager's House for exploration of its recently restored rooms.

Wandering through the many rooms and exhibits could work up an appetite and there North Pacific has also shared some well received news, noting earlier this month that the Yaga Cafe at Seal Cove will be providing for the mess hall food items this year.

North Pacific advises visitors to check their social media sites every Monday to see what's up on the Yaga Cafe menu for the week ahead.

The plans for the mess hall space at the historical site, makes for one more addition  to the Gitmaxmak'ay Nisga'a Society commercial footprint in the region.

Guided tours of North Pacific Take Place every at 11 AM , 1PM and 3PM every day but Monday through to the end of June.

With North Pacific Guides taking visitors back to the era when Fishing was King and communities were built out of the canneries that lined the shores.

More on their hours and admission rates can be reviewed here.

When the day is complete, a stop in at the gift shop provides for a range of items for visitors to take home as part of their trip, with the latest addition to the sales shelves the new North Pacific Tee Shirt collection.

If you haven't made the trip out to Port Edward in a while, this Mother's Day might be a good opportunity to take Mom to a special part of the North Coast.

With Mother's Day shaping up to be a sunshine filled affair, the North Pacific setting will likely draw some good crowds this weekend to check out the familiar and the new.

A trip back in North Coast Historical time is just 22 minutes
