Treaty Negotiations for Kitsumkalum, Kitselas nearing close

The Province of British Columbia is set to host two open houses for those with an interest in the pace of treaty negotiations for the Kitseslas and Kitsumkalum treaty process.

With the work on the two treaties nearing its completion, the province has provided a snapshot of what the twin treaties could mean for the First Nations and the communities that are in their vicinity.

The Kitselas Treaty and Kitsumkalum Treaty are intended to encourage investment, create jobs, expand economic development, and support social well-being for Kitselas and Kitsumkalum First Nations’ communities. These treaties will ensure that Kitselas and Kitsumkalum have the tools required to truly realize a vision of self-determination.
