Go By Bike Week Now underway for Prince Rupert cyclists

If you've got some wheels, this is the week to get them moving.

Go By Bike week is underway, a  one week blitz to get you reacquainted with your Bike and to explore options to making cycling part of your normal routine, the launch day for Prince Rupert at times a damp one with showers through the morning period so far.

Hosted locally by Change Makers Society, the week for Prince Rupert and area cyclists offers a chance to enter a national contest for a range of prizes, simply by registering your participation for the week, with the entries into the draws increasing the more you ride until June 4th.

Participants could claim an E-Bike or a cycling excursion to Croatia as part of the national competition.

This Spring #AnyRideCounts: getting groceries, riding to and from work or school, hitting the bike park, trail rides, or other recreational rides exploring your region. Taking the bus part way, carpooling or driving yourself to where your bike ride starts also counts. Getting around on smaller wheels like rollerblades and scooters counts, too!

Log any and all bike rides at GoByBikeBC.ca to enter the prize draw, track your progress, and see how many greenhouse gas emissions you offset by choosing to #gobybikebc.

To make sure your rides count, learn more about Go By Bike Week here and log on at the prompt.

The local program is also offering a Free Swim on June 4th at the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre, where they can help you log your rides of the week as well as to claim some local prizes.

Just in time for the start of Go by Bike Week, Chucky's Cycle Shop was making ready their collection of  bikes to propel you into the week ahead.
