Prince Rupert RCMP seek assistance from public on City property Damage file

Prince Rupert RCMP are investigating an incident on Sixth Street from Thursday that saw a City of Prince Rupert streetlight knocked to the ground from its base. 

The street light located behind Tim Horton's adjacent to the Rupert Square Mall parking lot was knocked over sometime before 1PM Thursday.

It was reported to the detachment  later in the day by a third party and the Mounties note that there is no video surveillance in the area that could have captured the incident.

"We're asking members of the public who would have seen the incident to come forward in order to provide us with any relevant details to forward our investigation" --  Cst. Gabriel Gravel, Media Relations Officer with the Prince Rupert RCMP.

The City of Prince Rupert has estimated the damage at a cost of $15,000 to repair.
