Competition set for Northwest Regional Swim Meet this weekend at the Earl Mah Aquatic centre

Swimmers will be hitting the pool today and making waves all weekend long as the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club hosts the Northwest Regional Championships.

Swimmers from across the region are in town for three days of swim events that begin at 5:30 this afternoon with the Mixed  200 Fly, Mixed 100 IM, Mixed 800 Free and Mixed 1500 Free serving as the weekend ice breaker for the event, with opening night events going until 8:30 PM

Saturday features a full schedule of morning events from 9AM to 1PM, picking up again in the afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30PM.

Two flights of competition make for the Sunday Mother's Day schedule with the morning session from 9AM to Noon and the Afternoon session featuring the finals in many of the categories with swimmers in the pool from 3:30 to 5:30PM

You can review all of the details for the weekend ahead from the event page here.

As well, the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club has updates on the weekend plans available for review through their Social Media feed.

As a result of the Championship weekend, the City of Prince Rupert has advised of the hours when the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre will not be available for the usual public swims.
