It was a weekend of play to put behind them for the Prince Rupert Rampage.
As their trek into the heart of the Cariboo delivered a pair of losses to drop them from the ranks of the undefeated and knock then off the top perch in the CIHL Standings.
The road travels started on a positive note on Saturday in Williams Lake, with the Rampage coming out fast from the puck drop, taking a 1-0 lead at just 3 minutes and change into the first frame, Hunter Johnson claiming the marker with an assist to Kory Movold.
The 1-0 lead however was a short lived affair, with the Stamps recovering nicely just three minutes later to tie the match up, followed by another goal just ninety seconds away from the end of the period to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
Period two was a near copy of the first, with the Rampage making for their second and last goal of the night at 6:04 that coming from Jacob Santurbano, with assists to Hunter Johnson and Thomas Robinson.
From that point on the Stamps knuckled down to business, keeping the Rampage off the score sheet and often heading to the penalty box and the temperature of the game heated up.
As they slowed the Rampage attack, they also pushed in the Prince Rupert end, making for their third goal of the night at 11:14, taking the lead once again, something they would not surrender from that point on.
The Third period was for the most part all Stamps on the score sheet where they picked up two more goals that served to put away the 5-2 final.
The Third frame was as bellicose as the second, with the Stampeders claiming the larger share of the penalty parade to the box.
Overall the teams were fairly even on penalty time, with the Rampage serving 16 minutes on 8 infractions, the Stamps 17 minutes on 8 penalty calls as well.
Neither team could turn those into scoring opportunities however, the Rhinos went 0-3 on the power play, the Stamps 0-4.
Kieran Sharpe took the loss in the Rampage nets, his first setback of the season.

Sunday the Rampage had a rendezvous with the defending Champs in Quesnel, the back end of the weekend double header with the Cariboo delivering a smackdown from the host Kangaroos both on the scoreboard and at the penalty box.
Things did not start out well for the Rhinos who surrendered two goals in the first to head into period two down by a deuce, surrendering a third goal in the early going of the middle frame.
Prince Rupert did make for a bit of a push back in the middle portion of the period, with two goals back to back in less than three minutes.
The first at the 7 minute mark, when Marcus Atchison picked up the first of the night for the Rhinos, assists going to Cole Morris and Austin Weir.
Greg Shepherd collected the second goal of the night for the Rampage at 9:24, with an assist going to Tyler Halliday.
The Roos added to their total at 12:06, with the Rampage answering six minutes later with an Austin Weir goal, with the assist going to Kory Movold.
That however was the end of the marks on the Rampage score sheet, the third period score of 4-3 as close as the visitors would get on the afternoon, with the Third period all Quesnel.
They turned on the offence in the final frame, with Five unanswered goals within less than twelve minutes, making for the 9-3 final for the day.
The pace of the scoring accelerating the physical play after the whistles, with Misconducts the rule of thumb solution for the officials from the 10 minute mark on with Nolan Stava, Marcus Atchison and Jacob Santurbano all assessed majors by games end.
The two teams amassed a total of 122 minutes in penalties by games end, Prince Rupert with 57 minutes on 11 penalty calls, Quesnel 65 minutes on 15 infractions.
Kieran Sharpe was in the nets for all 9 goals on the afternoon, something that will have an impact on his fairly impressive GAA going into the weekend.

The Rampage get a few weeks to recover from the challenges of the Cariboo, they are off the ice in competitive work until Saturday, November 25th, when they play host to the Smithers Steelheads at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
The standings of today, likely to be somewhat different before they next take a face-off to open the game.
Puck drop at the Jim on the 25th will be at 7 PM
