Coroner's Office takes over investigation into body recovered at Inverness Passage

A call for service for the Prince Rupert RCMP on July 2nd, led responding officers to the recovery of human remains which had been discovered by a fishing vessel in Inverness Passage near Port Edward.

The call came in at 11:20AM on the 2nd with the RCMP working alongside the Canadian Coast recovering the body, transferring it to the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital.

The case file has been turned over to the BC Coroner's Service, which is conducting the investigation. No further details related to the file have been released at this time.
