Day of fun to "Pop Up" on 3rd West on August 24th

The city's Downtown core will soon be the host for an afternoon of fun, food and festivities with a Third Avenue "Pop Up Event" set for Friday, August 24th.

Organizers have put together a collection of Food Trucks, assorted vendors and activities for the afternoon event which will take place in the 500 Block of Third from 4 PM to 8PM.

That stretch of the downtown runs from the CIBC to Cooks Jewellers ending just before Andre's Electronics.

The project, one of a number of initiatives that is looking to bring some life to the city's central core area, as well organizers will use next Friday's Pop Up to gauge the interest in the prospect of similar street like events in the future.

Music will keep the scene lively and you can seek your Zen with Zikhara Yoga or take part in a number of opportunities to win Prizes during the four hours in the city's downtown.

Ecotrust Canada and Redesign Rupert will also have information tables on the block to help share their plans for the community as fall and winter approach.

As a result to prepare for Friday's Pop Up, that stretch of Third will be blocked to traffic starting at the Noon hour.

One Block of Third Avenue West from Fulton to Fourth Street
will be the home for Pop Up Prince Rupert, with the event
